Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a dedicated Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely run heavy machinery at a recycling center, landfill, or transfer station. You will load, spread, cover and compact waste or soil while upholding safety standards.

Two years of heavy equipment experience and OSHA-site experience are preferred. The role supports a busy operations team with strong emphasis on reliability, safety, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Shows safety consciousness and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and loaders.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Document minor equipment services and report repairs.
• Keep shop area clean and safe after each shift.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
