Job summary

Reworld Waste in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Processing Technician to collect and process material at client facilities. You will operate forklifts, balers and compactors under supervision and help maintain a safe, clean work area.

Key duties include loading and unloading, routing collection points, interacting with plant personnel, and ensuring materials meet vendor specifications. HS diploma or GED preferred; forklift certification can be earned through internal coaching.

Qualifications

• Shipping/receiving industry experience preferred.
• HS diploma or GED preferred; GED Works program offered.
• Forklift Experience required.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and time management skills.
• Ability to become forklift certified through internal coaching.
• Ability to work long shifts and be punctual for start time.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as fork trucks, balers, compactors, etc.
• Process waste materials into like commodities or in accordance with vendor specifications
• General housekeeping; sweeping, washing and maintenance of areas
• Loading/unloading of van trailers and/or flat beds
• Managing collection points within a client’s facility
• Interact with plant personnel to determine needs of local areas
