Job summary

The City of Springfield is seeking a Solid Waste Operations Associate to help determine incoming waste composition, volumes, and weights for fee assessment and to support the operation of the Springfield Sanitary Landfill, Yardwaste Recycling Center, and other Solid Waste facilities. The role also includes an important customer service component for community members.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in scale operation.
• General record keeping work experience with an emphasis on public contact.
• Preferred: Customer service experience and computer skills.
• Some experience in operation of over-the-road trucks and/or equipment operation.

Responsibilities

• Determine incoming waste composition, volumes, and weights to assess and collect appropriate fees.
• Provide support for the operation of the Springfield Sanitary Landfill, Yardwaste Recycling Center and other Solid Waste Facilities.
• Serve in an important customer service role with community members.
