Job summary

Meridian Waste is seeking a Scale Operator to monitor and record waste volumes entering the site, and to collect appropriate fees from customers. You will determine load content and accept or reject loads, issue receipts, and balance daily cash transactions using truck scales and computer systems.

The role requires accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced facility while following all safety policies.

Qualifications

• Experience handling cash and balancing receipts.
• Experience with computers and software programs.
• Customer service experience preferred.
• Experience in the Solid Waste Industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and record waste volumes entering the site for billing.
• Accept or reject waste based on content; suggest alternatives.
• Receive payments and provide receipts.
• Balance daily receipts and deposit them.
• Document waste using scales and computer systems.
• Notify operations of special waste and process paperwork.
• Answer phone and provide information to callers.
• Maintain cleanliness and follow safety policies.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
