Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Gate Attendant/Scale Operator to accurately monitor waste volumes and collect usage fees at multiple post-collection sites. You will determine load content for billing and ensure proper payment handling, while documenting entries and maintaining site safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications

• Experience handling cash and balancing receipts.
• Experience with computers and various software programs.

Responsibilities

• Determine content of material entering facility to bill the customer.
• Accept or reject waste loads; suggest alternatives based on waste type.
• Receive payments; provide receipts to customers.
• Balance daily receipts and deposit funds into the safe depository.
• Document waste entries using truck scales and computer systems.
• Notify operations of special loads and process required paperwork.
• Answer the telephone and provide general information.
• Maintain a clean work area.
