Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Gate Attendant/Scale Operator in Bend, Oregon. The role focuses on monitoring waste volumes, accurately billing customers, and collecting payments at the site.

The position requires experience with cash handling, basic computer usage, and recordkeeping. You will document waste entries, balance receipts, and maintain a clean, safe work area while assisting customers and handling inquiries.

Qualifications

• Experience handling cash and balancing receipts.
• Experience with computers and various software programs.

Responsibilities

• Determine content of materials entering the facility to bill the customer.
• Accept or reject waste loads based on content and advise on alternatives.
• Receive payment and provide receipts to customers.
• Balance daily receipts and deposit into the depository.
• Document waste using truck scales and computer systems; track totals.
• Notify operations of special waste and process required paperwork.
• Answer telephone and provide general information to callers.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
