Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Gate Attendant/Scale Operator in Chicago area to monitor and record waste volumes, collect appropriate usage fees, and ensure accurate billing. The role involves operating truck scales, handling payments, and maintaining records at multiple entry points.

Responsibilities include determining load content for billing, accepting or rejecting loads, balancing cash receipts, and coordinating with operations on special waste.

Qualifications

• Experience in a position that required cash handling and balancing receipts.
• Experience with computers and various software programs.

Responsibilities

• Determine content of material entering facility to properly bill the customer.
• Accept or reject waste loads based on content; suggest alternatives based on waste type.
• Receive payment and provide receipts.
• Balance daily receipts and deposit into safe depository.
• Document waste using truck scales and computer systems; track totals.
• Notify operations of special waste or loads; direct or dispatch as needed.
• Answer the telephone and provide information to callers.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
