Job summary

Interstate Waste Services is hiring a Scale Operator to weigh in/out solid waste vehicles, manage payments and loads, and uphold safety at the landfill scale. This role requires attention to detail, data entry, and strong English communication.

You will serve as the first contact for drivers, verify loads, and perform administrative tasks while ensuring compliance with safety procedures and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school/GED required; higher education is a plus.
• Minimum 2 years in a warehouse environment.
• Experience in the sanitation industry is strongly preferred.
• Experience working with scales is strongly preferred.
• Fluency in English required; Spanish bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as first point of contact for drivers and customers at the scale house.
• Accurately calculate/process payments, weights, and measurements.
• Verify loads to ensure no inappropriate materials.
• Perform regular data entry, filing, and reporting tasks.
• Maintain scale house operations and general upkeep.
