Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Risk Specialist I within the Worldwide Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP) team to drive regulated waste compliance across multiple sites. You will implement compliance plans, conduct inspections, and surface gaps to improve conformance while collaborating with site operations and legal stakeholders.

The role requires knowledge of RCRA, DOT and state waste rules, data-driven problem solving, and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related field.
• At least 2 years of environmental compliance or regulated waste management experience.
• Experience interpreting and applying environmental regulations (RCRA, DOT, and state rules).
• Experience analyzing data to identify compliance gaps and drive corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Own the execution and delivery of regulated waste compliance projects across sites.
• Apply risk management methods such as audits and site inspections to monitor compliance.
• Collaborate with site teams to clarify waste compliance requirements and drive discussions.
• Identify process improvements to reduce risk and improve conformance.
• Prepare clear documentation, including status reports, audits, metrics, and communications.
• Travel up to 50%.
