Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Risk Specialist I for the Worldwide Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP) team in California. You will drive regulated waste compliance across multiple sites, execute environmental compliance plans, conduct site inspections, and surface gaps using data-driven insights.

You'll partner with site leaders, operations, and legal stakeholders, manage risk, and travel up to 50% to meet mandatory milestones in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in environmental compliance, regulated waste management, or workplace risk investigations.
• Experience interpreting and applying environmental regulations (RCRA, DOT, and applicable state hazardous waste rules).
• Experience collecting and analyzing data to identify compliance gaps and drive corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Own the execution and delivery of regulated waste compliance projects and activities, including SOPs, workflows, and inspection routines.
• Apply risk management methods such as audits and site inspections to monitor compliance and take corrective action.
• Collaborate with site teams, compliance operations, and partners to clarify requirements and drive consensus.
• Identify process improvements to increase conformance, reduce risk, and improve efficiency.
• Prepare clear documentation, including status reports, audit results, metrics, and project communications.
• Travel expected up to 50% of the time.
