Job summary

Suffolk is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator for the Public Works Department. Under general supervision, you will operate refuse compactor, crash truck or dump trucks and perform minor preventive maintenance.

You will inspect trucks, assist crews, follow safety procedures, and respond to weather-related incidents. A valid commercial driver's license is required by six months of employment.

Qualifications

• Operates heavy sanitation equipment with skill and safety awareness.
• Performs minor preventive maintenance on heavy trucks and equipment.

• Works under supervision in a municipal Public Works setting.

Responsibilities
