Job summary

Gulfshoresal is seeking a CDL-certified refuse collector in Irving, TX to join our outdoor operations team. You will collect refuse, brush, and debris and transport them to the landfill or an approved recycle center.

The job requires working outdoors in varying weather, lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with help. Hours are 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., four days a week, with pay range listed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required with one year relevant experience.
• Recent experience driving a vehicle requiring a Class A or B CDL.
• Must communicate in English at a safety-critical level.

Job description

Duties include collecting refuse, brush and debris and transporting it to the City landfill or approved Material Recycle Center. Duties will require working outdoors under a variety of weather conditions and typically will require lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds with the assistance of other employees. A high school diploma or equivalent with one year relevant experience, and at least six months recent experience driving any vehicle that requires a Class A or B commercial driver’s license (CDL) to operate. Must currently possess a Class A or B CDL; and, have formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to communicate in English at a level necessary for successful job performance, such as in emergencies or other situations in which workers must speak a common language to promote safety. Normal schedule is 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. four days per week. PAY GRADE SW01 / FULL PAY RANGE $25.32 - $33.01 PER HOUR ($52,668 - $68,676 ANNUALLY)
