Job summary

GFL Environmental Inc. is hiring for a solid waste collector role in Missouri. You will collect waste and recyclables from customer premises or curbside, load materials into the truck, and sort recyclables into appropriate compartments. You will assist the driver with backing and maneuvering and operate compacting equipment on the truck.

The position emphasizes safety, proper PPE, and teamwork with supervisors to improve routing efficiencies. Prior related experience is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing and communicating clearly with customers and teammates.
• Able to follow instructions and work under supervision when required.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Collect solid waste and recyclables from customer premises and curbside.
• Load waste into the rear or side of the collection vehicle.
• Sort recyclables and deposit materials into appropriate compartments.
• Assist driver with safe operation and maneuvering in tight spaces.
• Operate truck equipment to compact trash/materials.
