Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safe operating procedures and maintaining equipment.

• Proficiency in using written and verbal communication to convey information.

Responsibilities

• Operates a Conventional Rear Loader garbage truck, mini-garbage truck, Tandem Dump Truck, Open Body truck, Automated Side Loader, Street Sweeper, Tractor & Loader, in a safe and efficient manner.
• Performs manual work associated with the collection of waste including garbage, recycling, yard trimmings, furniture, bedding, animal waste, tires, etc.
• Performs vehicle pre/post-trip inspections including checking oil, tires and fluid levels and inspection lists.
• Maintains and secures all departmental vehicles and equipment; reports damages as required.
• Retrieves scale reports from landfill/transfer station operators and records daily waste transport data.
