Job summary

The City of Odessa, Texas seeks a team-oriented worker to perform basic labor tasks in collecting and transferring solid waste for the Solid Waste division under close supervision. You will operate vehicles, equipment, and tools in accordance with safety regulations and standard procedures.

Essential duties include assisting with collecting waste, maintaining vehicles, reporting hazards, and supporting public interactions while upholding confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Related work experience is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of basic safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting and transferring solid waste; cross-trains in division skills.
• Assist in maintaining vehicles and equipment, in safety compliance.
• Follow safety precautions and report hazards and incidents.
• Support divisional operations with regular attendance.
• Interact courteously with the public and City staff while maintaining confidentiality.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned.
