Job summary

NOVO Health Services is seeking a Soiled Linen Separator at our Atlanta Healthcare Laundry facility. You will open bags, sort linens, weigh and record, and help maintain safety and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Open bags at the breakout table and send linen up the belt.
• Move carts, swap in empty carts, and push loaded carts to the cart area.
• Break open bags and sort linens by size and type.
• Sort large pieces (bath blankets, sheets, thermals) and smaller items.
• Weigh full slings, record data, and prepare for staging.
• Maintain quality standards and follow safety procedures.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.

Job Summary :

We are currently looking for a Soiled Linen Separator at our Atlanta Location Healthcare Laundry facility. We are looking for someone confident in decision-making, who can act quickly, and has excellent communication skills. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Open up bags at the breakout table and send linen up the belt.
• The primary cart mover (the attendant closest to the soil cart) brings the empty soil cart away from the belt, puts a new cart in the area, and takes the empty cart and pushes it to the cart area.
• The bag breaker attendant breaks open the bags.
• The attendants on the belt perform the following tasks: One attendant sorts large pieces consisting of bath blankets, flat sheets, draw sheets, and thermals.
• The second attendant sorts the second largest pieces - underpants, patient gowns, and fitted sheets.
• The third attendant will handle all the rest of the pieces, such as bath towels, washcloths, hand towels, and scrubs.
• The last stage of the soil room process is hoist and weigh or staging. The attendant pulls the full slings away as they fill up, puts an empty sling in, weighs the full one, records the information, and hangs it.
• Adhere to quality standards in terms of soil sorting and cart cleaning.
• Understand, observe, and adhere to all safety procedures and policies.
• Assist and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements :

• High School Education, GED and formal education/training preferred.
• Good analytical skills to be able to determine number of carts required for orders.
• 1 to 2 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or service industry
• Ability to work in a noisy fast paced environment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, reach, and stack individual items from machine for long periods.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to push or pull a cart that may weigh 100 pounds.
• Demonstrated customer service and organization skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Physical Requirements :

• Physical Demands consist of standing, walking, reaching overhead, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, grasping, lifting 50 lbs. or more, and stooping.
• Physical Demands consist of the ability to move rolling carts of varying weights and sizes -- up to and exceedingly approximately 250lbs.
• Physical Requirements consist of being able to meet the physical demands for the entire shift.

Education :

• High School or GED
• 1 to 2 years of experience in the health care, manufacturing, or similarly situated industries.
