Job summary

HDR is seeking a Washington Area Safety Manager to lead SH&E programs across our Seattle area projects. You will implement and review site-specific safety plans, support field staff and Project/Construction Managers in SH&E requirements, and drive auditing, inspections, and Job Hazard Analysis development.

You will facilitate SH&E training, apply federal and state OSHA/ANSI standards, and partner with the Area Manager to establish best practices in office and field environments while upholding

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Technical degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene or a closely related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Safety Health and Environment.
  • Certification in SH&E fields such as CIH, CSP, ASP, CHMM, CHST, GSP, or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA and ANSI regulatory standards.
  • Knowledge and application of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software.
  • Team‑oriented with proven oral and written skills to support SH&E policy and procedural requirements.
  • Acceptance of an active participant role in an employee‑owned culture is mandatory.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous SH&E work experience in construction, mining/tunneling, water infrastructure, DOT, Oil and Gas and/or A&E firm
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Technical degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene or a closely related field
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Safety Health and Environment field
  • Certification in one or more SH&E fields such as Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP), or equivalent SH&E Project/Program Management experience
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA and ANSI regulatory standards
  • Knowledge and application of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software
  • Team‑oriented with proven oral and written skills to support company SH&E policy and procedural requirements
