Job summary

HDR in United States – Washington – Bellevue seeks a seasoned SH&E professional to implement and review site-specific safety plans and training across office and field settings.

You will support field staff and project managers, conduct SH&E audits, and ensure compliance with OSHA/ANSI standards while contributing to HDR's employee-owned culture. This is a full-time role based in Bellevue, WA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Technical degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene or closely related field.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Safety Health and Environment field.
  • Certification in SH&E fields such as CIH, CSP, ASP, CHMM, CHST, GSP, or equivalent SH&E PM experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA and ANSI regulatory standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Team-oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to HDR's employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

  • Audit and inspect SH&E programs and develop Job Hazard Analyses.
  • Facilitate SH&E training as required.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal and state SH&E regulations.
  • Collaborate with Area Manager to establish SH&E best practices.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate proficiency in implementing and reviewing site‑specific safety plans and programs
  • Support and assist the company's field staff and Project/Construction Managers in SH&E requirements
  • Show proficiency in SH&E auditing and inspection protocols, behavior‑based safety observation program implementation, and development and review of Job Hazard Analysis
  • Be proficient in SH&E training and able to facilitate this training as required
  • Display working knowledge of SH&E regulatory codes to include both federal and state
  • Partner with the Area Manager to establish best practices and procedures in support of SH&E requirements within an office and field environment
  • Perform other duties as needed
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous SH&E work experience in construction, mining/tunneling, water infrastructure, DOT, Oil and Gas and/or A&E firm
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor or Technical degree in Occupational Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene or closely related field
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Safety Health and Environment field
  • Certification in one or more SH&E fields such as (Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST), Graduate Safety Practitioner (GSP), or equivalent SH&E Project/Program Management experience
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA and ANSI regulatory standards
  • Knowledge and application of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint software
  • Team‑oriented with proven oral and written skills to support company SH&E policy and procedural requirements
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture is a must
