Job Overview
Altrol Inc., Alaska's leading HVAC and plumbing contractor, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Warehouseman/Expediting Specialist to join our logistics and operations team. This role is central to keeping our service and install departments stocked, supported, and on schedule. You'll be the vital link between inventory management, job site readiness, and field support-making sure our team has exactly what they need, exactly when they need it. Key Responsibilities
- Issue purchase orders to company employees for parts, materials, and equipment requests.
- Order, receive, and stage materials and equipment for service and installation jobs.
- Match packing lists to purchase orders and update company inventory software accordingly.
- Maintain warehouse inventory accuracy, including daily updates and physical counts.
- Stock van tubs for daily technician use and maintain technician stock rotation.
- Wait on over-the-counter customers, pulling and invoicing parts as needed.
- Pick up parts and materials from supply houses as needed.
- Stage and verify installation job materials for completeness prior to scheduling.
- Run parts and tools to field technicians and installers when required.
- Manage, track, and maintain shop equipment, tools, and ladder assignments.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness in the warehouse, shop, and showroom areas.
- Assist install crews in the field when extra hands are needed.
- Schedule and track maintenance appointments for fleet vehicles; manage GPS systems.
- Perform facility upkeep such as vehicle washing, snow removal, and material disposal.
- Enforce inventory control procedures-log all ins and outs with full part descriptions.
- Secure the warehouse when unattended; maintain safety and accountability at all times.
- Support general operations with additional duties as directed by management.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in warehouse logistics, inventory control, or parts expediting preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer proficiency (inventory systems, data entry, email).
- Ability to lift, move, and transport materials up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Comfortable driving for parts pickups and field deliveries.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills for working with techs, vendors, and internal teams.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
