Job Summary:

Performs a variety of duties in connection with receiving, storing, issuing, and shipping within a warehouse. Responsibilities include:

1. Receiving and unloading incoming merchandise, inspecting, counting, marking, unpacking, segregating, and tagging items.
2. Verifying items against documentation, checking prices, reporting discrepancies to supervisor, and signing for received merchandise if required.
3. Stocking warehouse according to specified locations and maintaining label accuracy.
4. Picking merchandise for shipment or transfer, verifying documents against merchandise.
5. Assisting in charge back processes for over-shipped or damaged goods.
6. Performing periodic inventories and assisting with inventory preparation.
7. Maintaining cleanliness and order in stock areas.
8. Operating material handling equipment (up to 10,000 pounds).
9. Performing other duties as assigned, under supervision, following policies and procedures.

Physical Effort:

Walking, stooping, bending, standing for long periods, lifting boxes up to 40 lbs (sometimes over 50 lbs with assistance), using push carts, climbing ladders, and using sharp tools.

Working Conditions:

Indoor and outdoor work in varying environments, potential for minor injuries, working in close quarters, ramps, or platforms.

Training Requirements:

Hazardous Material (HazMat) training within 90 days of hire, as per Department of Transportation regulations.

Experience and Education:

Minimum of 18 months warehousing experience or related duties. Education substitution: 1 year of high school equals 3 months of experience, up to a high school diploma or GED for 12 months of experience.
