Job summary

M. J. Kellner Co., Inc. is seeking a Second Shift Warehouse Worker to pick, stack, and stage customer orders in a fast-paced, high-volume warehouse near Springfield.

The role is overnight with Sunday through Thursday hours, 6:00 PM to 2:30 AM, and includes overtime. You will operate warehouse equipment, read labels, and ensure pallets meet quality and safety standards. Starting wage is $22.25/hr plus $1 shift differential ($23.25/hr), with a $2.00 raise after one year.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
• Experience in a high-volume warehouse environment.
• Able to read pack sizes and match to labels.
• Willing to work Sunday–Thursday night shift.

Summary

The Second Shift Warehouse Worker accurately and productively picks, stacks, and stages customer orders to meet daily deadlines and ensure that we consistently and reliably deliver success to our customers.

This is a very PHYSICAL job with OVERNIGHT hours.

Essential Functions

• Picks product in all temperature zones as directed (Freezer, Cooler, Dry dock).
• Uses assigned tools and equipment safely and as instructed.
• Ensures all pallets are presentable to customers and meet the company's commitment to quality: pallet width variance, height, and repack case weight. All items on pallet are properly stacked and secured for safe transport.
• Meets or exceeds all company safety and performance expectations, follows all handbook and operations policies and procedures.
• 40 hours per week guarantee.
• Sunday through Thursday, 6:00 PM to 2:30 AM (overtime does occur).
• Teamsters Union membership required.

• Ability to read pack size, order labels, and match to visible items and other data.
• Ability to perform computer lookup/inquiries to determine product location and/or description.

Work Environment

This job operates in a warehouse environment, which includes variable temperatures, exposure to noise and vibrations from forklifts/other equipment, and operating near moving mechanical parts, such as forklifts and ride-on pallet jacks.

Physical Demands

• Walking and standing for most of the shift
• Some stooping, kneeling, and crouching
• Reaching and carrying with hands and arms
• Lifting and carrying 60 pounds most of the shift, occasionally heavier
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate warehouse tools and equipment
• Ability to hear and speak into headset
• Close visual work on computer terminal

Job Type: Full-time, Non-exempt

Compensation: The starting wage is $22.25/hr + $1.00 shift differential, which equals $23.25/hr. Upon completing one year of employment, the hourly wage will increase by $2.00.
