Job summary

Kuna Foodservice in Dupo, IL is seeking a 2nd Shift Warehouse Associate to handle high-volume orders, pick items, load trucks, and replenish stock to ensure timely deliveries across all areas.

You will operate equipment, verify labels, and enter data into scanners with pick-to-voice support, while adhering to safety standards. High school diploma or GED and English literacy are required, with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate warehouse equipment safely to fill orders with products from specified locations
• Deliver pallets to correct shipping location and organize for loading
• Meet standards for productivity, quality, damage avoidance, and safety
• Maintain a safe, organized workplace and follow safety practices
• Complete picking and loading activities daily; overtime may be required
• Perform tasks in Dry, Cooler, and Freezer locations

Job Title: 2nd Shift Warehouse Associate

Location: Kuna Foodservice - Dupo, IL 62239

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly)

Pay Range: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour

Department: Warehouse

Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor

Purpose

This position responds to high volume orders by picking, loading trucks and replenishing stock to ensure orders are ready for delivery within the required timeframe for all job functions.

Essential Functions

• Inspect assigned equipment before use
  
  • Follow designated checklist
  • Charge pallet jack battery as needed
  • Report problems to supervisor
• Inspect optical scanner for proper operation and report issues
• Obtain picking labels from designated area or person and verify they all belong to the same delivery route
• Enter correct information into scanner before selecting orders (for productivity and quality auditing)
• Operate various warehouse equipment safely to fill orders with commercially acceptable products from specified locations within the warehouse
  • Confirm accuracy of selection with optical scanner
  • Put proper labels on products ensuring labels are visible to delivery driver
• Set products on pallets
  • Right side up
  • Use acceptable quality pallets
  • Organize items so they are safe and secure
    
    • Heaviest items on the bottom
    • Products inside confines of the pallet
    • Place toxic substances correctly
• Deliver pallets to correct shipping location and arrange in order as they will be loaded on trucks
• Meet established standards for productivity, quality, damage avoidance, and safety
• Maintain a safe, organized workplace
  • Follow pallet jack operating requirements
  • Use designated traffic patterns
  • Put damaged products in allocated area
  • Remove broken pallets and debris from warehouse aisles
• Wear required safety equipment (safety shoes)
• Complete all picking and loading activities daily; overtime may be required to ensure completion each day
• Complete picking activities in all warehouse locations (Dry, Cooler, Freezer)
• Perform loading, housekeeping, maintenance, and other assigned tasks
• Attend all required company meetings
• Adhere to all safety practices and company policies

Qualifications

• Must be able to be certified on all equipment used on shift by Kuna Foodservice
• Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English
• Must have sufficient reasoning capabilities to solve practical problems (e.g., determine if a product is commercially acceptable or if it is the correct item for a customer)
• Must be able to hear commands given via pick‑to‑voice application
• Must have basic math skills
• Must be able to work in a variety of temperatures (from -10 to 55+ degrees)
• Must be able to work overtime as required

Physical Demands

Continuously during the workday:

• Grasp and/or manipulate objects by quickly moving on hand, a hand and arm together or two hands
• Listen and respond to voice commands while wearing headset
• Lift, push, and carry 51 to 100 lbs
• Bend, stoop, twist, and kneel
• Balance while operating a stand‑up pallet jack
