This contract-to-hire position is responsible for preparing outgoing shipments and coordinating closely with the Customer Service team to ensure all shipping documentation is completed accurately and on time. The role combines hands‑on warehouse work, inventory control, and the use of computer systems to process domestic and international orders in a busy distribution environment.
Transact customer orders using carrier platforms and ERP systems to ensure accurate and timely processing.
Perform quality control inspections within the workflow to verify that orders and shipments meet required standards.
Package and tape international shipments in multi‑pack cartons for export, following established shipping guidelines.
Affix shipping labels on packed cartons and verify that labels match shipment details and documentation.
Take an accurate inventory count at the end of each day and report discrepancies promptly.
Serve as a back‑up order picker when needed, accurately selecting items according to pick lists and customer orders.
Assemble cardboard cartons as needed for large, multipack shipments to support high‑volume outbound activity.
Move prepared shipments from shipping carts to dock doors using appropriate material handling equipment.
Call and email forwarding companies to arrange shipment pick‑up and confirm scheduling details.
Consign shipments to forwarders and ensure the correct shipments are consigned by carefully reviewing documents and instructions.
Maintain good communication and rapport with co‑workers to support a collaborative and efficient workflow.
Keep the shipping area organized and inform the supervisor of issues or concerns on the shipping floor.
Use data entry skills to accurately record shipping, receiving, and inventory information in company systems.
Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and, when certified, forklifts to move and stage materials.
Handle shipping and receiving tasks involving carriers such as UPS and FedEx, including domestic and international shipments.
Perform material handling, picking, and order picking activities using RF scanners and related warehouse technology.
Complete other duties as assigned to support overall warehouse, shipping, and receiving operations.
Previous warehouse experience with exposure to shipping, receiving, or general distribution operations.
Proficiency with computers and the ability to perform accurate data entry in ERP and carrier systems.
Experience with inventory control, including counting, tracking, and reconciling stock.
Ability to work with shipping and receiving processes involving carriers such as UPS and FedEx, including domestic and international shipments.
Comfort using RF scanners for picking, receiving, and inventory tasks.
Experience with order picking, material handling, and pallet jack operations in a warehouse environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with co‑workers, forwarding companies, and internal teams.
Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues related to orders, shipments, and inventory.
Demonstrated ability to learn new software and applications quickly and apply them accurately.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook for basic reporting and communication.
Forklift certification required, or the ability to obtain certification within the role.
Experience working in a high‑volume distribution center with racking systems similar to large warehouse retailers.
Background in shipping and receiving operations that include international export and multi‑pack carton preparation.
Ability to maintain organization and cleanliness in a busy shipping area while managing multiple priorities.

Work is performed on day and swing shifts at multiple locations, with typical schedules such as Monday through Friday 6:00 a.m.2:30 p.m. or 9:30 a.m.6:00 p.m., and Monday through Thursday 5:00 a.m.3:30 p.m. or 3:15 p.m.1:45 a.m., depending on assignment. The environment is fast‑paced, with frequent use of pallet jacks, forklifts (for certified operators), RF scanners, and other warehouse tools to move, pick, and ship products. Dress is typical for warehouse work, with practical, safety‑conscious attire suitable for operating material handling equipment and working around racks and loading docks.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tigard, OR.
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
