Job summary

Duke Energy in Greensboro, NC is seeking a Commodities Services Technician I to perform day-to-day picking, shipping, and reclamation duties to support the supply chain and Power Delivery customers.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver's license (Class B), and the ability to obtain a CDL. Training on MAXIMO and eMax is provided, and the position emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adaptability.

You will work 7am–3:30pm, on-site, with occasional overtime and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A valid driver's license to operate company vehicles.
  • Ability to obtain Commercial Driver's License (Class B).
  • Demonstrated ability to operate power lift equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to use hand tools and power tools (banding machines, crimping tools, utility knives, bandsaw, reciprocating saw, etc).
  • Must complete fork-lift, EH&S, and other supply chain training.
  • Basic computer skills including email (Outlook).
  • Self-motivated and able to work with little supervision.
  • Experience interacting with a wide range of contacts.
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Picking, packaging, and shipping materials to Power Delivery facilities.
  • Reclaiming and returning materials to Supply Centers inventory.
  • Communicate effectively with Supply Center employees and internal customers.
  • Learn and use MAXIMO and eMax systems.
  • Work in a warehouse/yard environment and adhere to safety procedures.
