Overview

Job Summary:

Due to company growth, we are hiring a Warehouse Associate. This role involves responsibilities related to warehouse operations, inventory management, yard maintenance, and office tasks. The successful candidate will have a hands-on role in the warehouse and inventory, interacting with field employees and customers. The position is based at our warehouse in Columbus, Ohio, and requires 1-3 years of warehouse experience.

What Will You Do
  • Load and unload materials and supplies from trucks
  • Assist in staging materials (kitting) for projects as requested
  • Perform equipment maintenance checks
  • Operate a forklift safely and effectively
  • Maintain vehicle maintenance records
  • Contribute to ongoing cost-saving and efficiency initiatives
  • Utilize equipment and vehicle assets effectively
  • Report delays, discrepancies, unsafe conditions, or maintenance issues to management
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe stockroom and yard
  • Complete warehouse transactions electronically
  • Conduct stock counts and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy
  • Assist with deliveries and pickups at job sites and customer locations
  • Handle shipping and receiving functions
  • Verify accuracy of materials and stock for retrieval and verification
  • Follow policies and procedures to ensure quality and cost control
  • Transport vehicles needing maintenance to and from repair sites
  • Assist with general office and grounds maintenance, including scheduling sanding, salting, and plowing
  • Perform other duties as required
What You Will Need
  • At least 1-3 years of warehouse material handling experience; telecommunications experience preferred but not required
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Dependable, self-motivated, with a strong work ethic; team player; punctual with good attendance
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with customers, vendors, and colleagues
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet
  • Availability to work Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with potential overtime
  • Valid driver’s license
  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and frequently
  • Capability to sit, stand, climb, kneel, bend, lift, crawl, squat, reach, and use both hands and feet
  • Ability to sit for extended periods, communicate effectively, and operate basic office equipment
  • Work involves exposure to heat, cold, dust, wet conditions, vibration, and loud noise
