Overview

Job Summary:

Due to company growth, we are hiring a Warehouse Associate. This role involves responsibilities related to warehouse operations, inventory management, yard, and office tasks. The successful candidate will have a hands-on role in the warehouse and inventory, and will interact with field employees and customers. The position is based at our warehouse in Columbus, Ohio, and requires 1-3 years of warehouse experience.

What Will You Do

• Load and unload materials and supplies from trucks
• Assist in staging materials (kitting) for projects as requested
• Perform equipment maintenance checks
• Operate a forklift
• Maintain vehicle maintenance records
• Implement ongoing cost-saving and efficiency initiatives
• Utilize equipment and vehicle assets effectively
• Report delays, discrepancies, unsafe conditions, or maintenance issues to management
• Keep the stockroom and yard clean, organized, and safe
• Complete warehouse transactions electronically
• Conduct stock counts and cycle counts for accuracy
• Assist with deliveries and pickups to/from job sites and customer locations
• Handle shipping and receiving functions
• Ensure accuracy of all material and stock records
• Follow policies and procedures to ensure quality and cost control
• Transport vehicles needing maintenance to and from service sites
• Assist with general office and grounds maintenance, such as scheduling sanding, salting, or plowing
• Perform other duties as required

What You Will Need

• 3+ years of experience in material handling within a warehouse (telecommunications experience preferred but not required)
• Ability to operate a forklift
• Dependable, self-motivated, team-oriented, punctual, with good attendance
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with customers, vendors, and colleagues
• Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet
• Availability Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 5:00 pm, with potential overtime
• Valid driver’s license
• High School Diploma required; Associate’s degree preferred

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly and frequently
• Ability to sit, stand, climb, kneel, bend, lift, crawl, squat, reach, and use hands and feet
• Extended sitting, standing, bending, walking, and communication via phone or computer
• Operate a vehicle for company business
• Work primarily in an office and outdoor environment with exposure to heat, cold, dust, wet conditions, vibration, and loud noise
