Job summary

Ontex in North Carolina seeks an experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead receiving and shipping teams across 3 shifts. You will manage scheduling, ensure accuracy of documents, and drive inventory controls for Raw Materials.

Requirements include 5–8 years in warehouse/logistics, a related degree or equivalent experience, leadership background, SAP/EWMS familiarity, and forklift certification. Overtime and weekend work may be needed; join a safety-conscious environment.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business, Management, or Logistics, or equivalent experience with high school diploma/equivalency
• 5+ years in a leadership/supervisory role in manufacturing
• Proficient with MS Office
• Forklift driving experience – license required
• Strong sense of urgency & attention to detail
• Excellent organization, communication and follow-up skills
• SAP experience preferred; SAP EWMS experience highly desired
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods and lift heavy materials
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise receiving employees across all 3 shifts, including scheduling and time-card approval
• Ensure receiving staff perform duties accurately and safely with focus on scanning accuracy
• Maintain and create receiving documents (BOLs, hold tags, related docs)
• Perform inventory cycle counts in Raw Material/Receiving Warehouse; address discrepancies
• Own Raw Materials inventory; ensure proper shipping and handling of Hold product
• Develop improvement plans to increase receiving efficiency
• Maintain housekeeping standards in Receiving and Dock areas
• Perform receiving functions as needed, including forklift operation
• Ensure compliance with safety guidelines and procedures
• Lead and supervise shipping staff across all 3 shifts
• Ensure shipping documents are accurate and maintained (BOLs, hold tags)
• Perform shipping functions as needed, including forklift operation
• Handle other duties as required

Warehouse supervisors oversee and direct the activities of teams that receive and handle items and deliveries. This role balances direct receiving activities and stock handling with team leadership duties such as training and guiding employees, developing policies and procedures to enhance receiving department activities, and maintaining inventory control and management records. This role supports and coordinates operations within their department and makes key decisions regarding the unloading, intake, storage, and distribution of items. In many cases, this leadership role also plays a part in maintaining receiving and warehouse department budgets, managing the department’s workflow, and promoting safety and efficiency.

What am I expected to deliver, and what are my main tasks?

• Leadership and supervision of receiving employees across all 3 shifts, including scheduling and time card approval.
• Ensure receiving employees perform job responsibilities correctly and safely, with a focus on scanning accuracy.
• Ensure all receiving documents are created and maintained accurately. This includes BOLs, hold tags and associated documents.
• Perform inventory cycle counts in the Raw Material/Receiving Warehouse. Correct and follow-up on any inventory discrepancies in these areas. Maintain inventory accuracy above 98% for Raw Materials.
• Ownership of Raw Materials inventory, ensuring that product is shipped properly and Hold product is handled according to guidelines and disposition.
• Develop improvement plans to increase efficiency in the receiving operation.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and cleanliness in the Receiving and Dock areas.
• Perform receiving functions as needed, including driving a forklift.
• Ensure and promote compliance to company safety guidelines as well as policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as required Secondary Tasks (when coverage is needed)
• Leadership and supervision of shipping employees across all 3 shifts.
• Ensure shipping employees perform job responsibilities correctly, with a focus on scanning accuracy.
• Ensure all shipping documents are created and maintained accurately. This includes BOLs, hold tags and associated documents.
• Perform shipping functions as needed, including driving a forklift.
• Performs other duties as required

What do I need to be successful in this job?

• Experience: 5-8 years of experience working in a warehouse setting or in logistics; experience in operating material handling equipment preferred
• BS/BA in Supply Chain, Business, Management, or Logistics; or equivalent experience with high school diploma/equivalency
• A minimum of 5 years in a leadership/supervisory role in manufacturing preferred
• Proficient with MS Office suite
• Forklift driving experience – acquire or maintain forklift license on required equipment
• Strong sense of urgency & attention to detail
• Excellent organization, communication and follow-up skills
• Able to influence others & manage conflict
• Ability to self-direct and take constructive action in ambiguous situations
• Extremely high standards of excellence
• SAP experience preferred; SAP EWMS experience highly desired
• Must be able to work well in a team
