Job Title: Warehouse Supervisor

Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of supervisory responsibilities in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, training, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems within the warehouse scope.

Description: Manages team members within your designated area or shift within the warehouse. Responsible for overall direction, coordination, and evaluation. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing; training; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints; and resolving problems from all employees within the scope of the warehouse.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Directly manage warehouse employees.
  • Manage flow of materials from receipt to shipment via delegation to coordinators and area leaders.
  • Assign daily responsibilities to coordinators, area leaders, and hourly staff; monitor daily department performance based on workload and labor metrics.
  • Serve as liaison between management and hourly employees, communicating announcements, process changes, and support requests.
  • Ensure employees receive required training on safety, equipment operation, warehouse procedures, emergency plans, etc.
  • Support and achieve daily operational expectations.
  • Continuously improve material flow, processes, and warehouse efficiency.
  • Oversee housekeeping efforts for the assigned shift.
  • Develop and update performance charts; delegate monitoring as appropriate.
  • Manage assigned projects and maintain project boards.
  • Promote safety among employees and visitors.
  • Encourage product improvement suggestions.
  • Prepare warehouse materials and equipment for the upcoming shift.
  • Assist in process evaluation, continuous improvement, and implementing redesigned processes.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations with safety leaders.
  • Mentor coordinators and area leaders for future leadership roles.
  • Ensure compliance with Safety and Quality Assurance Programs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Aurora’s leadership.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manages subordinates within your designated area or shift, responsible for supervision, coordination, and evaluation in accordance with company policies and laws, including interviewing, training, performance appraisal, and conflict resolution.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong phone skills.
  • Proficiency in PC, Microsoft Word, Excel, and basic computer skills.
  • Attention to detail and task completion.
  • Familiarity with industry part numbers and warehouse processes.
  • Warehouse or manufacturing leadership experience preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
  • Work environment primarily in a warehouse setting.
  • Bending and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Infrequent travel may be required.
  • Limited physical risks; working at heights required.
