Job summary

A Great Company is seeking a Second Shift Supervisor to oversee warehouse operations Sunday to Thursday, 7 PM–3 AM. You will manage staffing, routing, and transportation while enforcing safety and quality standards.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, development of team members, and ensuring on-time deliveries, regulatory compliance (DOT/OSHA), and efficient daily execution across cross-dock and yard operations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in warehouse, logistics, transportation, distribution, or related operations.
• Proven experience managing employees in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Transportation, routing, cross-dock, or distribution experience strongly preferred.
• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee cleaning, picking, packing, repairing, processing, and staging of rental inventory per SOPs.
• Schedule, assign, and direct staff to meet warehouse, cross-dock, and transportation objectives.
• Monitor staffing, workflow, labor utilization, and resources to meet customer commitments within budget.
• Coach, train, and develop team while ensuring safety, quality, attendance, and productivity.
• Manage daily routing and supervise inbound/outbound transportation operations for timely deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, DOT, OSHA, and other regs.
• Review driver paperwork, routing docs, and transportation records for accuracy.
• Lead daily transportation and cross-dock meetings communicating priorities and updates.
• Analyze issues and collaborate with customer service and other departments for smooth execution.
• Oversee yard operations including trailer movement, vehicle staging, equipment utilization, and material handling.
• Support facility operations, housekeeping, and maintenance during shift.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the cleaning, picking, packing, repairing, processing, and staging of rental inventory in accordance with company standards and SOPs during the second shift.

Schedule, assign, and direct employees to ensure warehouse, cross-dock, and transportation objectives are achieved efficiently.

Monitor staffing levels, workflow, labor utilization, and operational resources to meet customer commitments and stay within budget.

Coach, train, and develop team members while holding them accountable for safety, quality, attendance, and productivity.

Manage daily routing and supervise inbound/outbound transportation operations to ensure safe, efficient, and timely deliveries and pickups.

Ensure compliance with all company policies, as well as DOT, OSHA, and other relevant regulations.

Review driver paperwork, routing documentation, and transportation records for accuracy and regulatory compliance.

Lead daily transportation and cross-dock meetings, communicating operational priorities, updates, and challenges.

Analyze operational issues and collaborate with customer service and other departments to ensure smooth daily execution.

Oversee yard operations, including trailer movement, vehicle staging, equipment utilization, and material handling.

Support overall facility operations, housekeeping, and maintenance activities as needed during your shift.
