Job description

Principal Function:

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the nightly workflow, directing warehouse staff, coordinating shipping and receiving activities, and ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to:

1. Supervises warehouse personnel on 2nd and 3rd shift.
2. Responsible for receiving, sorting, and linehaul staging/loading in Indianapolis warehouse operations.
3. Oversees linehaul staging and loading to ensure accuracy and adherence to schedules.
4. Checks pallets to ensure parcel sorting accuracy.
5. Ensures all data scans are reviewed and locates any products with missing scans for proper receiving.
6. Acts as the primary after-hours contact for the customer service team.
7. Acts as the primary after-hours contact for warehouse operations.
8. Handles customer product receiving, sorting, staging, and loading.
9. Develops and implements standard operating procedures (SOPs) for warehouse sorting and ensures team compliance.
10. Manages all cross-dock work to meet customer expectations.
11. Ensures each route has all assigned library totes for next-day delivery.
12. Maintains warehouse cleanliness to set up each shift for success.
13. Develops and implements a new sorting system for all non-scannable products.
14. Ensures all safety procedures are practiced and followed.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or G.E.D; and five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous supervisory experience is essential. Experience in logistics and distribution is also required.

Physical Demands:

Employees must frequently sit, handle, reach, talk, and hear. Regularly stand, walk, and lift/move up to 100 pounds. Occasionally climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.

Work Environment:

Primarily in a warehouse with moderate to loud noise levels. On-site presence required. Work hours extend beyond standard office hours, including weekends and holidays. Occasional in-town travel may be needed.
