Job Summary:
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient distribution activities while leading and developing warehouse personnel. This hands-on leadership role manages inventory, shipping, receiving, transportation coordination, customer service, and operational performance. The ideal candidate has experience in logistics or freight forwarding, strong leadership skills, and a proven ability to improve warehouse productivity, safety, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily warehouse operations, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, labeling, kitting, inventory management, and order fulfillment
- Oversee inventory accuracy through cycle counts, wall-to-wall inventories, inventory audits, and inventory control processes
- Manage inbound shipments, warehousing activities, customs control, and outbound shipment preparation and dispatch
- Supervise the safe operation and utilization of warehouse equipment, including stand-up forklifts, pallet movers, swing-reach trucks, and order pickers
- Coordinate transportation activities and resolve customer logistics issues
- Partner with customers to provide customized warehousing, inventory control, transportation, and logistics solutions
- Monitor warehouse performance and ensure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and budget objectives are achieved
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, productivity, and customer service levels
- Hire, train, coach, mentor, and evaluate warehouse personnel
- Assign work, establish priorities, monitor productivity, and manage employee performance
- Maintain compliance with company policies, warehouse safety standards, and security procedures
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs
Qualifications
Required:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, air freight, or warehouse operations
- Experience building pallets and Unit Load Devices (ULDs)
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, shipping, receiving, and distribution processes
- Experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), barcode scanning technology, and shipment tracking systems
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience driving KPIs and employee engagement
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Customer-focused mindset with strong interpersonal skills
Preferred:
- 1+ years of supervisory or warehouse leadership experience
