Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Attend work and perform assigned duties.
  • Verify items, load carts, and dispatch shipments.
  • Unload freight trucks and inspect items for damage.
  • Enter data into inventory control program.
  • Assist with inventories and maintain inventory records.
  • Participate in COOP plans and other duties.

Job description

Warehouse Specialist I – Entry Level

This entry‑level position is located at the Richmond SSLC warehouse. Supply Services also serves patients/residents at 22 other facilities around the state, offering opportunities for growth and movement to other parts of Texas.

Job Details

Location: Richmond, TX – Richmond State Supported Living Center, 2100 PRESTON. Shift: Day, Monday–Friday, 8 am–5 pm. Pay: $2,694.33 – $3,946.25 monthly. This is a regular, full‑time, non‑exempt position. Eligible employees receive full‑time benefits.

Essential Job Functions
  • Attend work on schedule and perform duties assigned.
  • Review picking tickets, verify items, load carts, and stage them for dispatch. (30%)
  • Load and unload stock using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other lifting equipment, and deliver items to ordering units using state vehicles. (20%)
  • Unload vendor freight trucks, verify shipments, inspect items for damage, and record data per procedures. (20%)
  • Enter data into the MIMS automated inventory control program, assist with inventories, reconcile variances, and maintain inventory records. (15%)
  • Enter receiving data into the CAPPS Financial system. (10%)
  • Participate in COOP plans and other assigned duties. (5%)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of general warehouse operations including shipping, receiving, issuing, customer service, and inventory control.
  • Skill in operating mechanical lifting devices and other warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to follow rules, regulations, and policies for compliance.
  • Ability to use handheld devices for inventory management.
  • Computer literacy using inventory control and receiving software.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Licensure, Registration, and Certifications

Valid Class C driver’s license (Texas license preferred). Forklift driver training—SAF0100—completed within three months of employment.

Initial Screening Criteria
  • High school graduation or GED.
  • Experience using inventory control and receiving software.
  • Warehouse or inventory control experience preferred.
  • Forklift or material handling experience preferred.
