This position is responsible for ensuring that orders are packaged to protect products, coordinating freight using customer-directed carriers, making timely shipments, and ensuring all freight company, customer, and company required documentation is accurate. In addition, this position is responsible for receiving and safely storing purchased and customer-supplied materials/components and ensuring all required documentation is accurate.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- No experience required; previous shipping and receiving experience is a plus.
Required Skills/Competencies:
- Basic Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word experience is a plus.
- Prior ERP or MRP systems experience is a plus; training will be provided.
- Proficient with using a tape measure to within 1/16”.
- Ability to use basic measuring and inspection tools such as tape measures, steel-rules, calipers, attribute gauges, gauge blocks, pins, go/no-go gauges, etc.
- Training will be provided on advanced measuring tools, extrusion process, and quality requirements.
- Ability to operate common hand tools and powered tools and equipment.
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to read and understand production documents and simple mechanical drawings; training provided.
- Familiarity with the company’s quality system, procedures, work, and safety rules; training provided.
- Ability to maintain production reports and records; training provided.
- Positive interaction skills with customers, suppliers, delivery personnel, supervisors, and coworkers.
- Optional operation of a lift-truck (forklift) with proper training.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Receiving purchased materials, components, and supplies.
- Conducting first-stage receiving inspections per quality procedures.
- Shipping finished products according to plans.
- Coordinating with freight companies and drivers for timely dispatch.
- Maintaining storage areas, shipping staging, and finished products warehouse.
- Performing duties per quality, manufacturing, and safety procedures.
- Operating small hand and power tools and equipment.
- Operating powered stretch-wrap equipment and electronic scales.
- Completing and maintaining shipping and receiving documentation, including data entry into ERP system.
- Packaging, labeling, and preparing shipping documents.
- Counting and handling stock and finished products, including operating a forklift after training.
- Conducting monthly inventory cycle counts.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
Compensation / Pay Rate (Up to): $16.00 per hour
