Job summary

Expeditors seeks a Warehouse Lead to ensure smooth warehouse operations, prioritize safety, and manage unloading, storage, labeling, and transfer to carriers before cut-off times. You will collaborate with agents and 3rd parties to maintain daily/weekly workflow and team performance.

The role requires a high school diploma and at least 6 months of related experience, with the ability to read, count, perform basic math, and communicate effectively. Forklift operation may be required.

Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma preferred.
• Experience: 6 months or more in a similar role.
• Must read, count, do simple math and write legibly.

Responsibilities

• Safety is the FIRST duty and responsibility for everyone in the warehouse.
• Lead shift with agents and 3rd parties to ensure smooth daily and weekly operations.
• Maintain appearance of the warehouse to Expeditors standards.
• Verify documentation and complete processes accurately.
• Unload/load cargo safely, accurately and efficiently.
• Coordinate transfer of cargo via radio/phone/computer.
• Oversee staffing, including permanent and contingent staff.
• Lead team in warehouse excellence and ensure certified staff coverage.
• Onboard new staff and cross-train employees.
• Update event codes when necessary and conduct cycle counts.
• Oversee receiving, shipping, inventory and KPI compliance.
