Job summary

The Cigna Group is seeking a Pharmacy Operations Supervisor to optimize workload distribution, lead a team of technicians, and manage outbound transfer orders across service branches. You’ll support training, policy updates, and inventory controls in a fast-paced setting.

Required are 3–5 years of pharmacy dispensing experience, strong Excel and PC skills, and the ability to work M-F, 8am–5pm. Independence and leadership are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of relevant working experience in a pharmacy dispensing setting.
• Strong PC skills and ability to interpret and create spreadsheets (Excel).
• Knowledge of standard concepts and procedures within dispensing pharmacy and WMS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate workload distribution and scheduling for the assigned area.
• Serve as first-line resource for team questions, guiding junior staff.
• Create outbound transfer orders daily from service branches; relay transfers between branches.
• Assist in troubleshooting receipt and inventory discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with policies and SOPs; help meet productivity and quality goals.
• Assist in developing, documenting and updating staff training materials.
• Provide coaching to junior team members; cross-train staff to cover production functions.

Job description

What you’ll do:

• Ensure appropriate distribution of workload and workflow for assigned area including scheduling, shifting resources and back filling as needed.
• Serve as the first line resource for questions/issues from team and senior technicians, in coordination with supervisor; demonstrates leadership qualities consistent with the Express Way values.
• Create outbound transfer orders daily from different service branches (SB) Support in receipt of transfer from different SB as needed Effectively manages issues impacting performance and productivity of team members; including documenting issues, offering solutions, collaborating with others, communicating status and escalating as needed.
• Assist in troubleshooting receipt and inventory discrepancies.
• Assist Supervisor in ensuring that established policies and standard operating procedures are being followed and that individual and team goals for productivity and quality are met/exceeded.
• Assist in the development, documentation and updating of policies and procedures for staff, including specific training and validation material.
• Assist in training staff regarding procedures, including one on one training and/or to group sessions as needed.
• Provides guidance, coaching, and direction to more junior team members of the team.
• Acts independently working under limited supervision.
• Ensure that all team members are cross trained to cover production functions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you need to do the job:

• Three to five year’s relevant working experience; experience in a pharmacy dispensing setting is required.
• General PC knowledge: Ability to interpret and create spreadsheets via Microsoft Excel Knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within dispensing pharmacy General warehouse, inventory control, and Warehouse Management System experience a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with good organizational skills.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Willingness to work flexible schedules & over time to accommodate heavy work volumes.
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
• Schedule: M-F, 8am to 5pm.
