Job summary

Rheem Manufacturing Company is seeking a Safety Group Coordinator to support EHS programs, promote a safe work environment, and serve as a safety resource for warehouse operations. You will lead safety training, inspections, data management, and daily engagement with associates to address safety concerns.

The role covers PIV training, iWarehouse administration, fall protection and PPE, chemical management, and safety governance activities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse operations, safety, EHS programs, or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and warehouse safety practices.
  • Experience with Powered Industrial Vehicles and operator training.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
  • Ability to obtain required certifications, including Powered Industrial Vehicle Trainer certification as assigned.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) operator training and evaluations.
  • Monitor and track operator certifications and recertification requirements.
  • Maintain accurate training records and reports.
  • Coordinate training needs with designated PIV trainers.
  • Participate in investigations involving PIV incidents, near misses, or unsafe behaviors.
  • Perform iWarehouse data entry and manage operator profiles.
  • Monitor system-generated reports and alerts; troubleshoot access and equipment issues.
  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of the iWarehouse program.
  • Maintain harness inventory; conduct harness inspections; remove defective gear from service.
  • Coordinate replacement and procurement of fall protection equipment; assist with training.
  • Inspect chemical storage areas; manage hazardous chemicals and waste; SDS management.
  • Assist OSHA/EPA/DOT regulatory compliance; support spill prevention and response.
  • Conduct daily safety observations and Gemba walks; follow up on safety concerns.

Job Description

The Safety Group Coordinator supports the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program by promoting a safe work environment, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements, and serving as a safety resource for warehouse operations. This role is responsible for safety training, inspections, compliance activities, data management, and daily engagement with associates to identify and address safety concerns. Internal candidates must be in good standing with the employee to qualify.

Shift

Shift: 6:00am - 7:30pm; Friday - Sunday

Responsibilities
Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) Program
  • Conduct Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) operator training and evaluations.
  • Monitor and track operator certifications and recertification requirements.
  • Maintain accurate training records and reports.
  • Coordinate training needs with designated PIV trainers.
  • Participate in investigations involving PIV incidents, near misses, or unsafe behaviors.
iWarehouse Administration
  • Perform iWarehouse data entry.
  • Create and update operator profiles and equipment assignments.
  • Monitor system-generated reports and alerts.
  • Assist with troubleshooting operator access and equipment issues.
  • Support implementation and continuous improvement of the iWarehouse program.
Fall Protection and PPE Program
  • Maintain harness inventory and assignment records.
  • Conduct and document harness inspections.
  • Ensure damaged or defective fall protection equipment is removed from service.
  • Coordinate replacement and procurement of fall protection equipment as needed.
  • Assist with fall protection training and compliance activities.
  • Assist with PPE inventory and assignment.
Chemical Management
  • Conduct routine inspections of chemical storage areas to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with the identification, labeling, storage, and management of hazardous chemicals and waste.
  • Monitor damaged chemical products and coordinate proper handling, segregation, and disposition.
  • Maintain chemical inventories and support Safety Data Sheet (SDS) management.
  • Coordinate with operations, inventory control, quality, and EHS personnel to evaluate damaged products and determine appropriate disposition.
  • Support compliance with OSHA Hazard Communication, EPA, DOT, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Support spill prevention and response efforts, including maintaining spill response supplies and assisting with incident investigations.
Safety Gemba Walks, Inspections, and Compliance
  • Conduct daily safety observations and warehouse Gemba walks.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and work with leaders to implement corrective actions.
  • Follow up on safety concerns to ensure timely resolution.
  • Docu ment findings and provide feedback to supervisors and management.
  • Promote employee engagement and participation in safety initiatives.
  • Perform routine workplace safety inspections.
  • Assist with hazard identification and risk assessments.
  • Support OSHA compliance efforts and company safety standards.
  • Assist with emergency preparedness and response activities.
  • Monitor safety performance indicators and identify trends to support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Training and Employee Engagement
  • Deliver safety training and toolbox talks as assigned.
  • Support onboarding safety orientation for new employees.
  • Assist employees with understanding safety policies and procedures.
  • Encourage a positive safety culture through daily interaction and coaching.
  • Serve as a safety resource for associates and leadership.
  • Participate in safety committee meetings and assist in implementing site safety initiatives.
Reporting and Documentation
  • Maintain safety records, inspection reports, and training documentation.
  • Generate reports and metrics as requested.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into safety management systems.
  • Assist with audit preparation and corrective action tracking.
Qualifications
