Job summary

Calder Casino is seeking a part-time Warehouse Receiver to join the receiving bay team in Miami Gardens, FL. The role supports all departments by receiving orders from FedEx, UPS, Amazon, and F&B vendors, inspecting items, and ensuring accurate counts.

You will work with Purchasing and Food & Beverage leadership to store and distribute goods, track shipments, and help keep the receiving area safe, clean, and organized.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of warehouse receiving experience.
• Intermediate proficiency with Word, Excel, and online tools.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Reports to the Purchasing Manager in coordinating receipts and returns of materials ordered by Purchasing ensuring that shipments are as ordered. This position will have the responsibility of both receiving and distribution of goods and mail within the company, including truck shipments, all Food & Beverage vendors, UPS, DHL, and Fed Ex deliveries. Responsible for all mail distribution as well as runner duties for deliveries and Pick-ups, as assigned by the Purchasing Manager. Track orders in the computer system, verify back orders, and access the Purchase Order index.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Performs receiving functions for all departments, including monitoring and assisting with the unloading of products, opening packages as necessary, inspecting for damage, and verifying quantities received against purchase orders and/or invoices.
• Records all required receiving information in the appropriate systems and with vendors as needed.
• Forwards all packing slips and receiving documents to the Purchasing Manager after verifying and signing for accuracy of counts.
• Determines the most economical and efficient shipping methods and applies appropriate shipping labels to outgoing items. Packages shipments as required and maintains a log of all mail and shipments requiring special handling upon receipt.
• Coordinates damage claims and shortages, communicating with carriers and vendors to resolve discrepancies. Routes received items to the appropriate departments.
• In coordination with Food & Beverage leadership, assists in delivering received products to designated storage areas and outlets.
• Supports the organization and maintenance of Food & Beverage inventory in storage locations.
• Assists Food & Beverage leadership in recording and reconciling purchasing journals for food, non-alcoholic beverages, and alcoholic beverages.
• Maintains knowledge of and/or certification to operate warehouse equipment, including pallet jacks and hand trucks.
• Receives, sorts, and distributes postal mail and small parcels to designated departments.
• Follows all safety procedures and maintains a clean, safe, and organized shipping and receiving area.
• Adheres to all established safety and regulatory requirements, including OSHA, HACCP, Department of Health, and SQF standards, throughout the receiving process.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, including clarity, confidence, and professionalism.
• Willingness to work flexible hours and handle high pressure deadlines.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Preferred high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of warehouse receiving experience.
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and common online software navigation; able to create and format professional documents, enter and analyze data, and use online collaboration tools for effective communication
