Job summary

C&S Wholesale Grocers, LLC in Windsor Locks, CT is seeking a dedicated Custodian/Janitor for the 1st shift. The role pays $19.00 per hour and focuses on keeping a clean, safe warehouse and office environment.

Responsibilities include cleaning the warehouse, offices, break areas, windows and restrooms; maintaining floors; handling spills; and following safety procedures for equipment and lifting. Benefits include paid training and weekly pay.

Qualifications

• Attendance and a GED/HS diploma required.

• Provide and maintain a clean, safe work environment as custodian/janitor.
• Clean the warehouse, offices, break areas, windows and restrooms.
• Maintain floor housekeeping: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing, waxing.
• Remove spills and dispose of waste properly.
• Follow all material handling equipment safety procedures.
• Lift and move varying case weights as needed.

Job Description

• Earn $19.00 per hour

• Shift - 1st

• Sunday, Monday,-Tuesday, Friday - 8AM - 6:30PM

• Location - 500 North Street, Windsor Locks, CT 06096

You will contribute by:

• Providing and maintaining a clean and safe work environment by acting as a custodian / janitor

• Performing janitorial duties such as cleaning the entire warehouse, including office space, employee break areas, windows and restrooms

• Maintaining good housekeeping by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing and waxing floors

• Occasionally pulling product out of pick slots using an electric pallet jack to clean with a scrubber and returning product

• Tending to spills including damaged product, oil, grease, etc.

• Collecting plastic wrap, shredded paper, and empty boxes to be disposed of properly

• Following all material handling equipment safe operating procedures

• Occasional safe lifting of varying case weight, shape, and height levels

• Having the ability and willingness to follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures

• Continually Standing, bending, pulling, lifting, pivoting up to 90% of shift

• Walking on various surfaces including concrete, tile, carpet, etc.

• Frequently lifting of product weighing between 1 - 60 lbs. or more

• Frequent lifting of product ranging from floor to overhead

• Possibility of working on multiple levels of varying height

• Safe handling of sharp objects including box cutting tools
