Job summary

C&S Wholesale Grocers, LLC in Windsor Locks, CT, is seeking a custodian/janitor to maintain a clean and safe warehouse and office environment. You will support daily cleaning tasks across the facility and adhere to safety standards. This 1st shift runs Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays from 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM, with pay at $19.00 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Provide and maintain a clean and safe work environment across the facility.
• Perform janitorial duties including cleaning warehouse, offices, break areas, windows and restrooms.
• Maintain good housekeeping: sweep, mop, vacuum, buff and wax floors.

Position Overview

Porters work as a part of a team to reserve a clean and tidy environment throughout our facilities. These critical roles help to support our prideful work environment and the delivery of high quality product to our customers.

Earn $19.00 per hour

Shift - 1st Sunday, Monday,-Tuesday, Friday - 8AM - 6:30PM

Location - 500 North Street, Windsor Locks, CT 06096

You will contribute by:

• Providing and maintaining a clean and safe work environment by acting as a custodian / janitor
• Performing janitorial duties such as cleaning the entire warehouse, including office space, employee break areas, windows and restrooms
• Maintaining good housekeeping by sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, buffing and waxing floors
• Occasionally pulling product out of pick slots using an electric pallet jack to clean with a scrubber and returning product
• Tending to spills including damaged product, oil, grease, etc.
• Collecting plastic wrap, shredded paper, and empty boxes to be disposed of properly
• Following all material handling equipment safe operating procedures
• Occasional safe lifting of varying case weight, shape, and height levels
• Having the ability and willingness to follow all material handling equipment safe operating procedures
• Continually Standing, bending, pulling, lifting, pivoting up to 90% of shift
• Walking on various surfaces including concrete, tile, carpet, etc.
• Frequently lifting of product weighing between 1 - 60 lbs. or more
• Frequent lifting of product ranging from floor to overhead
• Possibility of working on multiple levels of varying height
• Safe handling of sharp objects including box cutting tools
