Job summary

Farwest Steel Corporation is hiring for a Warehouse Person - Rebar to support our day shift team in Vancouver, WA. You will assist operators, move materials, and help ensure accurate fabrication of reinforcing bar in a safe, productive environment.

The ideal candidate has a GED or high school diploma, basic math skills, reliable attendance, and good communication with coworkers. This onsite role offers daytime hours and a pay band of $19.75 to $30.00 per hour, DOE.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma is required.
• Warehouse rebar experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Strong verbal communication with coworkers.
• Reliability and punctuality required.

Responsibilities

• Assist operators to maximize material utilization and workflow.
• Cross-train on SOPs across machines to improve process flow.
• Adhere to safety policies and promote lean warehousing.
• Maintain housekeeping and a safe work environment.
• Maintain machines and report defects as needed.
• Fill in for other positions as needed.

About This Position

Job Type: Full Time, Onsite

Schedule: Day Shift, 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday.

Wage: $19.75 to $30.00 per hour, DOE

To safely assist Operators in the day-to-day activities enhancing their ability to accurately produce fabricated reinforcing bar in the most cost-efficient productive manner possible.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist operators in daily SOP work to maximize the utilization of material and increase process flow.
• Cross train on SOP's by using all the different machines to help increase the process flow and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Practice safe department standards, safety policies, and procedures and participate in promoting a lean warehouse.
• Maintain housekeeping standards to keep a safe working environment.
• Maintain machines, perform preventative maintenance as needed and report defective material or equipment.
• Fill in for other positions as needed.

Qualifications

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Previous rebar warehouse preferred but not required
• Must be able to make mathematical calculations.
• Effectively communicate verbally with customers and other coworkers.
• Reliable, be ready to work on time daily.
