Job summary

Farwest Steel Corporation's Warehouse Operations team seeks a Production Assistant to process orders, cut and prep parts, and assist in the warehouse while following safety policies and procedures.

You will identify parts, stack and label, load/unload vehicles, and support various warehouse areas with occasional forklift or crane work.

Qualifications

• High school or equivalent required or optional.
• Attention to detail and awareness of surroundings.
• Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic calculations.

Responsibilities

• Identify parts for orders and process parts per the work order.
• Stack parts on pallets or in bundles and label for delivery or storage.
• Load/unload vehicles and assist in warehouse operations as needed.
• Identify quality issues and report to supervisor for resolution.
• Occasionally operate forklift and crane per safety procedures.

About This Position

Job Type: Full Time, Onsite

• Swing, 3:30pm to 12:00am
• Graveyard, 11:30pm to 8:00am

Wage: $18.00 - $21.00, with differential (swing: $1.25, Graveyard: $2.00), depending on experience

Farwest Steel's Operations Department seeks a knowledgeable and dependable individual to join their team as Production Assistant. In this role, you will process orders cut on the burning machines and assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed while following all safety policies and procedures

Key Responsibilities

• Identify parts associated with a specific order, process parts, and clean up per instructions on the work order using grinders and hand tools.
• Stack parts on pallets or in bundles and mark with pertinent information from the work order for delivery or storage.
• Remove small cut parts from the burning tables by hand when needed.
• Identify all questionable quality issues and present them for review by the supervisor to ensure that customer expectations are met on every order.
• Load and unload vehicles including inbound deliveries and customer will calls.
• Sort and prepare parts for the processing area.
• Occasional forklift and crane operation as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent optional.
• Prior Warehouse Experience is a plus
• Attention to detail and awareness of surroundings.
• Effective verbal and written communication in English.
• Ability to make mathematical calculations and read a tape measure.
