Scope of Work:
Shipping and receiving: Fill orders for customers, branches, and service departments. Box, pack, and crate parts as necessary for shipment, prepare shipping documents, and load trucks. Process UPS, Fed-Ex, and hot shot shipments, including COD and credit card orders. Unload trucks, verify piece count and condition of shipments. Stage parts for shipment or customer pickup as indicated on purchase orders. Stock parts in designated areas as specified.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Fill parts orders for branches, customers, and service departments.
- Box, pack, or crate parts as necessary and prepare shipping documents.
- Stage outgoing shipments, notify carriers, and load trucks.
- Handle annual parts return orders.
- Process a high volume of express packages daily using UPS and Fed-Ex systems.
- Unload trucks, check freight condition, and verify piece counts.
- Unpack shipments, check against packing lists, and dispense per purchase order.
- Stock parts and maintain proper stocking sequences.
- Organize storage areas to maximize space and efficiency.
- Locate parts efficiently to ensure accuracy and handling.
- Resolve minor issues with part numbers and quantities.
- Record daily work volume and time spent.
- Maintain a clean work area daily.
- Assist other departments as needed.
- Train new personnel in departmental duties and procedures.
- Maintain department files and logs.
- Assist at the will-call counter if required.
- Promote good welfare among employees.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of previous experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Order selecting experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Understanding of the role and its relation to overall business objectives.
- Ability to meet goals and adhere to policies.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (if applicable).
- Proficiency in Windows-based computer systems.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds, bend, and twist regularly.
- Flexibility to work varied hours/days.
- Dependability and ability to work independently.
- Good client relations and professional appearance.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely and effectively.
- Accurate following of instructions and counting.
- Experience with scanners (minimum 1 year).
- Attendance at safety meetings and adherence to safety rules.
- Protect company assets and interests.
Working Conditions:
- Standard hours Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Weekend hours as needed.
- Potential temporary adjustments to schedule.
- Limited outside work.
