Job summary

Amcor is seeking a warehouse associate in Jackson, TN to efficiently move and scan product using forklifts and barcoded systems. You will load/unload freight, inspect equipment, and ensure accurate pallet handling while following safety and GMP standards.

The role requires English literacy, six months forklift experience, and ability to lift up to 35 lbs. Overtime and weekend shifts may be needed to meet department goals.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Capable of reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Six months forklift driving experience required.
  • Capable of lifting up to 35 lbs periodically.
  • Capable of complying with all Safety requirements including PPE.
  • Capable of maintaining attendance and overtime as needed.
  • Experience in material handling or shipping/receiving preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Move and scan product to locations using forklift and scanner.
  • Load/unload freight and conduct daily forklift inspections.
  • Wrap pallets and ensure traceability with barcodes.
  • Maintain ISO standards, SOPs, and GMP guidelines.
  • Uphold safety and quality, report issues promptly.
  • Pick orders for shipment and assist UPS processing when needed.
  • Keep area clean and maintain lot control traceability.

Job Description

The primary role of the warehouse person position is to move and scan product to specified locations while operating powered industrial trucks in a safe manner.

Essential Jobs and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Report to front line leadership
  • Work as a team member to obtain plant & departmental goals
  • Perform daily inspections on forklift
  • Perform Trailer inspections prior to loading & unloading
  • Wrap pallets with shrink wrap machine and scan pallets when required
  • Load / unload incoming / outgoing freight as assigned
  • Safely transport, store and/or retrieve all product / raw materials / other to and from racks and designated locations using scanner for traceability.
  • Practice First In & First Out product movement
  • Utilize all bar coding equipment as instructed to identify and transfer product.
  • Become cross-trained in the processing of UPS orders as needed and physically off- loading packages up to 35lbs.
  • Pick orders for shipment
  • Perform housekeeping duties as needed or assigned
  • Maintain lot control traceability
  • Control of non-conforming product
  • Uphold Safety Absolutes
  • Work and perform to ISO Standards, SOPs and established Work Instructions.
  • Uphold Quality Standards and follow the Absolutes.
  • Other tasks as assigned
Qualifications
  • Capable of physical mobility including sitting, bending, twisting, standing, and lifting.
  • Capable of working in a NON climate controlled warehouse where temps can exceed 102 degrees in summer & freezing temps in winter.
  • Capable of reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Capable of operating a forklift and a walkie rider in a safe and cautious manner to the satisfaction of the supervisor; six months of forklift driving experience required.
  • Capable of lifting up to 35lbs periodically.
  • Capable of complying with all Safety requirements including the use of PPE: PPE includes but is not limited to Bump Cap or Hard Hat, Safety Eyewear or Prescription Safety Eyewear, Safety Shoes, Hearing Protection and Disposable Mask.
  • Capable of maintaining an attendance record within Company guidelines and working required overtime.
  • High School Graduate or equivalent
  • Negative drug screen results.
  • Work in a safe manner
  • Previous experience in material handling or shipping/receiving preferred.
Additional Information
  • 7:00 am – 3:30pm M-F; Weekend as needed

  • Maintain a clean, healthy and safe workplace by ensuring adherence to safety standards.
  • Conduct required safety reviews of equipment and processes prior to project start-up.
  • Support the accomplishment of your work groups through the quality, timeliness and professionalism of your attitude.
  • Supply accurate and timely data as required by performance tracking and reporting.
  • Apply resources in a manner that maximizes their effectiveness while assuring quality.
  • Maintain a work environment that will contribute to the assurance of safety and GMP compliance.
  • Adhere to established procedures, perform self-checking and pay attention to detail in the performance of you and your team’s work.
  • Notify management in a timely manner of any problems with procedural compliance.
  • Report observed quality problems and deficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Make recommendations to management for improving the quality and efficiency of your work.
  • Oversee work to ensure projects are completed.
