Job summary

Amcor Rigid Packaging in the United States is seeking a Shipping Clerk responsible for processing shipping paperwork and coordinating order pick-ups with customers. You will handle documentation, print BOLs, verify accuracy, and maintain compliant workspaces on a daily basis.

The role requires strong communication, organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. PIT certification eligibility is a plus, with opportunities for growth within a global packaging leader.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or equivalent preferred but not required; manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications required.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English clearly; attention to detail important.
  • Must be able to obtain PIT certification.

Responsibilities

  • Use customer portals to schedule drier pick-ups.
  • Control documentation: BOLS, Shipping/Receiving forms, Rejections, etc.
  • Input delivery information into MII and print BOLs.
  • Review shipping documents for errors and file appropriately.
  • Pull load information in MII and review BOL details.
  • File and maintain controlled shipping documents.
  • Receive FedEx, UPS, etc. deliveries properly.
  • Update the Warehouse Driver Sign Screen with accurate information.
  • Maintain GMP/AIB/SQF compliant workspace.
  • Verify all shipping paperwork is complete and driver-ready.
  • Investigate or correct errors with loads; escalate as needed.
  • Maintain proper radio etiquette and use of PPE; work safely.
  • Direct non-conforming parts to appropriate reprocess area.
  • Support 5S and process improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and company policies.

About Role

Responsible for processing all shipping paperwork and working with customers on order pick-ups.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Use customer portals to schedule drier pick-ups
  • Control documentation: Included but not limited to BOLS, Shipping/Receiving forms, Rejections, etc.
  • Input delivery information in to MII and print BOLs
  • Review shipping documents for error and file appropriately
  • Pull load information in MII and review BOL details
  • File and maintain controlled documents appropriately for shipping functions
  • Receive FedEx, UPS, etc. deliveries properly
  • Update the Warehouse Driver Sign Screen with the appropriate information
  • Maintains GMP/AIB/SQF compliant work space
  • Verifies all shipping paperwork is completed and accurate for Driver to sign.
  • Investigates or corrects errors with loads, escalating issues
  • Maintain proper radio etiquette when using company radios, PA system and/or phone, business use only
  • Direct all non-conforming parts to the appropriate reprocess area.
  • Support 5s and Process Improvement Initiatives as needed
  • Follow Company policies and procedures including all Safety and Quality requirements and good manufacturing processes.
  • Report all accidents and near misses in a timely manner when they occur.
  • Exhibit teamwork skills and actively participate in team activities in a positive working environment.
  • Demonstrate problem solving skills in a work environment that is striving for continuous improvement.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.

  • Must have strong customer service professionalism.
  • Must be able to obtain a PIT certification

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Job is performed in an office setting with exposure to non-ambient temperatures, dust, noise and heavy machinery. When on the production floor the position may work near moving mechanical parts occasionally and rarely in high, precarious places. This position requires the use of eye protection, head protection, hearing protection, cut resistant gloves and high visibility clothing. Other required PPE is task specific. GMP procedures are observed in all areas of the plant.
