Job summary

The role involves packing and shipping duties, operating basic hand tools and banding equipment, and following strict safety and quality policies. You will perform inspections, label shipments, and maintain equipment records while keeping a clean work area.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, with forklift certification preferred. Some duties may require lifting up to 50 pounds and irregular hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Reading and comprehension of simple instructions and memos.
• Basic math and ability to work with numbers and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders.
• Uses hand tools and packing equipment as needed.
• Follows packing and preservation policies and procedures.
• Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain standards.
• Marks shipments in accordance with procedures and requirements.
• Maintains records for equipment and keeps area clean.
• Follows safety and quality policies; participates in continuous improvement meetings.
• May require lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.

Job Function

Essential Duties

• Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders.
• Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed.
• Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
• Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
• Marks all shipments in accordance with customer and AMI procedures and requirements.
• Properly stencils shipping information as required.
• Provides maintenance and keeps records of all equipment assigned.
• Maintains clean work area.
• Follows all company safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Participates in TQM and SPC meetings.
• May require lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.

Required Skills

• EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• REASONING ABILITY: Carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• CERTIFICATES: Forklift Certification, Preferred.
• OTHER ABILITIES: Ability to work irregular hours.

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $19.30/Hr. - USD $24.57/Hr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
