Job summary

AMI Metals, Inc. in Spokane Valley, WA seeks a hands-on team member to support packing, shipping and warehousing operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Forklift certification preferred.
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work irregular hours.

Responsibilities

• Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping.
• Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed.
• Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
• Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
• Marks all shipments in accordance with procedures and requirements.
• Properly stencil shipping information as required.
• Provides maintenance and keeps records of all equipment.
• Maintains clean work area and adheres to safety policies.
• Participates in TQM and SPC meetings.
• May require lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.

Required Skills

• EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• REASONING ABILITY: Carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• CERTIFICATES: Forklift Certification, Preferred.
• OTHER ABILITIES: Ability to work irregular hours.

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $19.30/Hr. - USD $24.57/Hr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
