Job summary

AMI Metals, Inc. is seeking a warehouse associate to prepare customer orders for shipping and assist production. You will build skids and boxes, operate saws and nail guns as needed, and ensure proper labeling and records while following packing procedures.

Candidates should hold a high school diploma or GED, forklift certification preferred, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work irregular hours. Attention to safety and quality is essential in this role.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare customer orders for shipping and assist production.

• Operate crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, and banding equipment as needed.
• Follow AMI packing and preservation procedures.
• Perform quality inspections to ensure accuracy.
• Label shipments and maintain records per procedures.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow policies.
• Participate in safety and continuous improvement meetings.
• May lift up to 50 pounds at a time.

Job Function

Prepares customer orders for shipping and helping with production by performing the following essential duties.

Essential Duties

• Builds skids or boxes for packing and shipping of all orders.
• Uses crosscut saw, miter saw, nail gun, staple gun and banding equipment as needed.
• Follows AMI packing and preservation policies and procedures.
• Performs quality inspections on orders to maintain 100% quality standards.
• Marks all shipments in accordance with customer and AMI procedures and requirements.
• Properly stencils shipping information as required.
• Provides maintenance and keeps records of all equipment assigned.
• Maintains clean work area.
• Follows all company safety and quality policies and procedures.
• Participates in TQM and SPC meetings.
• May require lifting up to 50 pounds at a time.

Required Skills

• EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• REASONING ABILITY: Carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• CERTIFICATES: Forklift Certification, Preferred.
• OTHER ABILITIES: Ability to work irregular hours.

Compensation Range

The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $19.80/Hr. - USD $25.07/Hr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
