Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in New Jersey is seeking a packaging associate to seal and palletize finished goods and prepare cases for shipping. You will check schedules, cut materials, and operate packaging equipment with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

The role requires reading and interpreting safety and operation instructions, maintaining attendance, and willingness to work overtime during busy periods. Eligible benefits and paid time off are included, with actual pay based on location and experience.

Responsibilities

• Seal and palletize packed finished goods in cases.
• Prepare cases for warehousing or shipping.

• Operates cutter in safe manner.
• Maintains packing station with pallets and sealing tape.
• Applies case label to corrugated case and securely seals case when full.
• Stacks pallets uniformly at required height.
• Shrinks wraps loads for shipment.
• Prepares load ticket for pallet count.
• Participates in line clearance procedures after each item is run.
• Operates motorized hand trucks.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

The starting rate is $16 per hour, depending on your role, level, and location. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 10 days of paid vacation, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change.

Your actual pay will be based on your work location and other factors, such as your skills, experience, and education.
