Job summary

Smurfit Westrock in Deer Park, NY is hiring a Production Worker to support a fast-paced packaging manufacturing facility. You will assist machine operators, manage tool readiness, and help keep the work area clean while advancing within the company.

The role requires flexibility across 1st–3rd shifts, weekend/overtime availability, and a strong commitment to safe operations with opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Strong desire to advance within the industry.
• Corrugated box manufacturing experience a plus; familiarity with Flexo, Gluers, Rotaries, Clamp Trucks and Forklifts is a plus.
• Flexibility to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts; overtime, including weekends.
• Math skills will be assessed.
• This position requires standing, walking, lifting, bending, and crouching.

• Some of the duties of this position include, but are not limited to: ensuring that all tooling for the machine is on hand, assisting the machine operator and assistant operator with setups and jam-ups, ensuring that the area surrounding the machine is kept clean of debris and spills

Shift: 1st Shift and 2nd Shift Available

Pay: $21.71/hr,

Overtime: frequent overtime up to 4 hours daily

Must be available to work weekends, holidays and overtime as required.

Primary job duties will include but not limited to safely perform a wide range of tasks supporting the manufacturing areas, production, conducting quality checks, material set-up, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to working safe, demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment, a strong desire to learn manufacturing processes and operating complex machinery, and have a desire to advance within the company.

The starting range is $21.71/hr, depending on your role, level, and location. The benefits for this role may include short-term bonus incentive, health, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts or health savings accounts, retirement savings plans, life and disability insurance programs, and paid sick leave as required by applicable state/local law, 5 days of paid vacation will be granted after 1 year of service, and 11 days of paid holidays, subject to annual change. Your actual pay will be based on your work location and other factors, such as your skills, experience, and education.
