Job summary

Maersk Warehousing & Distribution Services USA LLC is seeking an Operations Supervisor for the Performance Team’s warehousing and distribution operations in the New Jersey area. The role oversees inbound/outbound planning, staffing, and payroll, ensuring safety and efficiency across the shift from Sun to Wed 4:00pm - 2:30am.

You will supervise 20+ employees, coordinate with Inventory Control, and implement procedures to meet customer metrics and maintain high inventory accuracy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience supervising warehouse staff and managing payroll preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews inbound appointment log and open order report to plan work activities.
• Plans inbound and outbound schedules to meet customer metrics.
• Determines staffing needs based on workload and schedules staff accordingly.
• Assigns workers to duties based on workload and shipping schedules.
• Updates operational procedures and communicates them to warehouse associates.
• Tracks productivity and evaluates performance by individual, function, and department.
• Manages payroll of the department.
• Advises employees on handling of items received, stored, and shipped; and related issues.
• Traces inventory discrepancies and recommends corrective actions.
• Determines work procedures, prepares schedules, and expedites workflow.
• Issues written and oral instructions.
• Ensures proper safety procedures are followed.
• Maintains harmony among workers and resolves grievances.
• Directly supervises 20+ employees in operations.
